The Woolpack Inn Museum has been open since 1971, thanks to a forward-thinking group of locals who had a vision and gave their time to commence the museum, with the first step being purchasing the former Criterion Hotel which has been the home of the museum since its inception. We are forever grateful to those who made this commitment. We are currently a small group of volunteers proudly following in the footsteps of those who came before us to preserve our history & heritage. We are continually seeking new and varied ways in which to engage our community and governing bodies to assist with this purpose. The first half of the hotel was completed in 1895 and a top story added in 1915 creating a grand hotel for its era. Due to its age, the building is now in need of some extensive repair work to ensure it remains fit for purpose. We are continually looking at ways of improving the museum to make it an enjoyable and relevant place to visit for all.We are seeking support from the community both financially and with volunteers to ensure the museum keeps its doors open for many years to come.  We have major projects we need to source grant funding for and others that we can fund with local support and volunteers.
